For fans of Downton Abbey this could be a dream come true: The owners of Highclere Castle, Lord and Lady Carnarvon, are to open their home to two guests for one night.

Highclere Castle was built by Charles Barry and has been in the ownership of the Carnarvon family since 1679. The castle has recently become a household name because of its starring role in the TV series Downton Abbey.

This once-in-a-lifetime experience will mean that on November 26th, two people will be be able to live like a lord while experiencing the type of accommodation once enjoyed by the Kings and Queens of England.

Just an Hour Away From London

Situated just 50 miles outside London, the views from the bedrooms include over 1,000 acres of stunning parkland. Guests can visit all of the places featured in Downton Abbey too, including the iconic Drawing Room and Library.

For those who don’t manage to secure a booking Highclere Castle, the Egyptian exhibition, and all of the gardens are open to the public throughout the summer, and during Christmas and Easter. There are also special events and tours available all year.
