A much as we knew these were TV scenes and all in scripts, we still shed a tear, laughed in joy or were sorry and cried when they aired. So get ready for some amazing and exquisite wedding dresses from your favorite shows.
'Suits': Rachel Zane
Of course, Meghan Markle went on to become a real-life princess at her royal wedding to the UK’s Prince Harry but before her real-life wedding, she had a TV one.
This dress, by designer Anne Barge, is just a classic bridal look from the elegant V-neck, through to the fitted waist and then the flowing skirt adorned with tiny flora appliques. It really is fit for a future princess.
It has just the right combination of modesty and flair and would make any bride feel special on her big day. The on-screen wedding took place at the end of Suits season 7 and fans will agree that seeing Rachel and Mike Ross finally tie the knot was a great way to end the season.
Hide the remote! See what's next:
'Friends': Monica Geller
There were a few weddings in F.R.I.E.N.D.S, but none were more beautiful than when Monica and Chandler finally got hitched in Season 7.
Watching Chandler trying to propose was actually painful and in some ways pretty stressful viewing but it was worth it watching the flashback episode showcasing all the main events from their romance.
For her dress, she chose a simple deep v-neck and the trumpet skirt combined with a long veil was perfection.
'The Office': Pam Beesly
Pam and Jim were one of those couples that everyone just wants to be together and fans of The Office were definitely keen to see them get hitched.
Just like many office romances, what started off as a little bit of flirting turned into a huge love affair. By season 6 the couple was off for a Niagara Falls wedding following a surprise proposal by Jim at a gas station.
Pam’s flowing spaghetti-strap empire line dress, with its classic sweetheart neckline, just screamed elegance. It was topped off with a short veil and, we have to say, a rather large necklace.
"This Is Us" - Kate and Toby
Costume designer Hala Bahmet wanted Kate's dress to be perfect. She also wanted actress Chrissy Metz' dress to be perfect.
The dress had French beaded lace with a vine motif, as it was a garden wedding, so the dress was made appropriately. Hala created an asymmetrical skirt with The three-quarter sleeves to give it a fairy tale presence.
'Saved by the Bell': Kelly Kapowski
Another season finale wedding, this time for Zack and Kelly, 2 high school sweethearts from Saved By The Bell: The College years.
Zack and Kelly opted for an outdoor wedding in the wedding capital of Las Vegas and Kelly chose an elegant veil and scoop-neck dress. This is another dress with strange sleeves, and also the strange satin hem detracts from the overall look and feel of the gown.
The Nanny - Fran Fine
The best nanny anyone could wish for, finally tied the know with her nerdy British employer.
Fran Fine (Fran Drescher) married Maxwell (Charles Shaughnessy) in a cream-colored satin gown which was covered in rhinestone studs (aurora borealis) Celeste in Beverly Hills.
When interviewed about the dress, Fran said, "Ultimately we came up with the concept that we wanted the gown to look like every viewer's most romantic fantasy, something that would put, you know, [Princess] Diana's wedding dress to shame and every other great wedding gown since."
We think they pulled it off.
The Crown - Queen Elizabeth
Production costs of this show rose to $130 million, which $37,000 of it were spent on this wedding dress. An exact replica of the wedding gown the real Queen Elizabeth had on when she married Prince Philip back in 1947.
Claire Foy wore the replica as if she was the queen. This dress took more than 7 weeks to complete (the real dress took more than 6-months to finish).
'Boy Meets World': Topanga Lawrence
Cory and Topanga first kissed way back in Season 1 but it was not until 7 seasons later that we finally got to watch them walk down the aisle. Topanga wore an off the shoulder dress, with a lace bodice.
The thing we most love is the amount of fabric in the mermaid tail – a train always looks amazing on a wedding dress especially if there is a staircase in the venue. Even spread elegantly at your feet, a train is something that is always worth considering for that wow factor.
An Off-The-Shoulder Gown With A Train
The long lacy sleeves are elegant and would be perfect for a winter wedding, and of course, they look like such a great couple, who could not love this picture?
'Friends': Phoebe Buffay
Fans were over the moon when someone finally came along and fell for Phoebe. Everybody was rooting for success when she met Mike and the two started a relationship.
Phoebe was always the free-spirited and unconventional friend and it was the show’s 10th season before she found true love and married her beau.
Phoebe was never conventional so obviously, she chose a strapless gown to wear in the snow! Although we would recommend you keep that look for a summer wedding, the dress is amazing with its fitted bodice and beautifully draped skirt.
'General Hospital': Laura Spencer
This wedding photo, between Luke and Laura in The General Hospital, definitely tells the world that the show was filmed in the 1980s.
From the enormous beaded headpiece to the tulle veil the dress is inspired by the Victorian style with its buttoned sleeves but shows the trademark puffed sleeves so loved in the 80s.
That said the show was so popular that when this episode aired the viewing figures eclipsed those of the real-life wedding of Prince Charles to Princess Diana!
'Gossip Girl': Blair Waldorf
Queen B (a.k.a Blair Waldorf) was well known for her fashion sense and was always immaculately turned out. Even if she was just going to school she always dressed in style.
This gown was chosen as ‘something blue’ for a ceremony in Central Park and was showcased in the series finale. This is both simple and blingy.
Love Of Her Life
Ultimately, however, Blair went completely traditional when she married Chuck who was, it turned out, the real love of her life.
Of course, Blair managed to pull off another wedding with this second dress and who would expect anything less in a show where fashion was front and center.
'Gossip Girl': Serena van der Woodsen
Gossip Girl fans were on tenterhooks waiting for the final episode which was all about the wedding of Serena and Dan. Well, they certainly were not disappointed by this dress which is nothing short of magnificent.
Designer Georges Chakra is responsible for this strapless, gold metallic and tulle dress – not only is it original, but it is guaranteed to be unforgettable.
Also, who could forget that Dan was the mastermind behind Gossip Girl all along?
'Sex And The City': Miranda Hobbes
One minute it’s on and the next it’s off – after all, the breaking up and getting back together it was in Season 6 of ‘Sex and the City’ that Miranda and Steve finally got married.
Moving away from the conventional gown Miranda let her inner lawyer show and went for a red velvet ensemble.
'The Mindy Project': Tamra
SPOILER ALERT! The Mindy Project couple Tamara and Morgan finally made it to the big day and became husband and wife in the season finale.
After you have gotten over the sheer beauty of the gown just check out that veil, it looks simply stunning. Veils may be traditional but they are never, ever out of style and Tamra looks amazing.
She’s paired up some long earrings with the off-the-shoulder look of her dress and the result is a picture of class and elegance. Sometimes less is more with accessories, but we think that on this occasion more is definitely the look to go for.
'Nashville': Rayna James
This stunning but simple straight line off the shoulder dress was the epitome of elegance for Nashville’s Rayna James at her wedding to Deacon Claybourne.
This was the culmination of a romance that took 4 whole seasons of the show to make it to the aisle and it was certainly worth it. Rayna rocked the off-shoulder look, and that extra lace at the neckline was to die for.
Before we move on we just have to mention the elegant style that Rayna chose for her hair. Side-do’s went out of style for a while but looking at this picture we think they will soon be making a comeback!
Grey's Anatomy - Amelia Shepherd
Amelia (Caterina Scorsone) had a dreamy wedding gown on, with a pleated bodice and a deep V-neck when she married TV Owen Hunt (Kevin McKidd.) It happened in the season 12 finale.
Girls - Marnie
This picture of Marnie (Allison Williams) in a wedding dress with her gang in Twobirds Bridesmaid dresses was released before the fifth season for promotion porpuses.
Marnie has a simple and clean sheath with a bit of Greek influence, and, of course, an amazing belt.
'Sex And The City': Charlotte York
When lawyer Harry Goldenblatt worked for Charlotte on her divorce no one would have guessed that he would replace her first husband in her affections. With Trey MacDougal firmly behind her, Charlotte was free to marry Harry.
This cold shoulder gown remains a hot bridal trend and is accented with crisscrossed ribbons on the bodice. With the veil tucked into her hair, she rounded off the look. Of course, she also converted to Judaism to marry her beau.
Vintage Inspired Wedding Dress
The wedding ceremony didn’t go quite as planned but Carrie was on hand to give her friend some good advice.
She told her to take it as a good sign and she might have been right because the couple seemed to be the most stable on the show and now have children together.
Back to the dress – take a moment to appreciate how amazing the tail is. Classical timeless looks never go out of style.
'How I Met Your Mother': Robin Scherbatsky
HIMYM fans were amazed to see Robin rocking this amazingly feminine dress when she married Barney in the hit show.
Robin was not the most feminine throughout the show so this was a real, and welcome, change of look.
In season 9 Barney decided that Robin was the love of his life and married her, bringing an end to his playboy lifestyle once and for all.
'How I Met Your Mother': Lily Aldrin
This was another disastrous wedding day that turned out fine in the end – the groom shaved his head (don’t ask!) and of course, who can forget the pregnant harp player?!
Of course, it was still a beautiful day when the couple went off with friends and held a private ceremony in the garden.
Lily Aldrin’s dress may have started off being too large, but it certainly looked the business by the time everyone’s favorite couple tied the knot!
'Friends': Rachel Green
Rachel actually fled this wedding but the pilot episode of the hit show saw Rachel sat on the sofa in Central Perk wearing her wedding dress.
The dress became really famous for its chic looks – from the lace applique to the headband and veil this off-the-shoulder dress was the inspiration for many brides-to-be.
It may surprise you to know that the dress was actually just a stock dress picked out of the costume department at the Warner Brothers’ studio.
She Came In Through The Bathroom Window
The wedding day turned out to be far from a fairy-tale for poor Rachel. Having decided not the marry the successful and wealthy Barry, her father then cut off her funds.
She ended up homeless and had to escape by climbing out of the window. Of course, her childhood friend Monica took her in and the rest is history!
'New Girl': Cece Parekh
When this relationship first started it was little more than a hookup but Cece and Schmidt went ahead and fell in love anyway.
Of course, Cece’s religious family brought its own set of challenges for the couple but they did manage to finally tie the knot in the 2-part finale for season 5.
Cece’s cultural and religious background was represented by a traditional gold sari, and both the bride and groom wore red and white flowers. It is amazing that a traditional gown can still manage to hit the heights of fashion.
A Goofy Couple
In the show, Schmidt is, it has to be said, a little crazy, so much so that he actually nearly missed the wedding! The ceremony went ahead with their closest friends in a small, intimate ceremony in apartment 4D.
It really was all about close bonds, with the dress being made by Cece’s best friend, Jess.
'Grey's Anatomy': Meredith Grey
Meredith Grey finally bagged Dr. Derek Shepard at their wedding held in season 5.
Female viewers regularly swooned at the dreamy doctor but this time they were dropping their jaws at the sight of the Kenneth Pool designed dress. The dress featured a beautifully embellished silver dress complete with full flared skirt and barely their straps.
A Dying Wish
Nearly every episode of Grey’s Anatomy would end in tears but this one definitely pulled at the heartstrings.
When Izzie found out she was dying, Meredith decided that this unique frock would be perfect for her to wear to her wedding to Alex. The couple decided that Izzie should have their perfect wedding day and tears rolled when Alex said hows vows to Izzie.
'Tell Me You Love Me': Demi Lovato
Alright so it may be a music video, but it definitely earns a spot on the list! Our favorite Demi Lovato turned full bride on us when she played a bride in her emotionally charged music video Tell Me You Love Me”.
The dress was everything we expected of the singer, elegant, simple, and breathtakingly beautiful. And if we were him, we would NOT have left her at the altar!
'Parenthood': Jasmine Trussell
The season finale of Parenthood’s third season was the wedding of Jasmine and Crosby which shows how a small, intimate ceremony can really up the romance. The nighttime ceremony with the stairs and the fairy lights was what dream weddings are made of.
Jasmine had on an elegant wrap dress and of course, the classic design meant she could go for an elaborate hairstyle, with loose curls cascading onto her shoulders and a diamante band.
'Four Weddings and a Funeral': Carrie
This British romantic comedy was an unexpected hit becoming the highest-grossing British film at its time. The breath-taking dress of Carrie may just have been a contributing factor!
The outfit looks like a dream with those large shoulders and the over-the-top gown. Which somehow works.
'Grey's Anatomy': Cristina Yang
When Owen Hunt married fellow doctor Christina Yang she decided to go against the convention of a white wedding gown and go for a deep red instead.
The wedding gown, showcased in season 7 of the hit show ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ was a classic v-neck design topped off with a matching bouquet. Proof that the nontraditional dresses can and do look as amazing as the traditional white gown.
Too Bad She Had To Trash The Dress
Another, less successful Grey’s Anatomy wedding was the doomed union between Cristina and Burke. Cristina was panicking before the ceremony but the day went from bad to worse when Burke decided to dump her.
It did look great though, however, Meredith ended up having to cut her out of the dress so there was no chance of getting her money back.
'Parks and Recreation': Leslie Knope
When Leslie and Ben first met it seemed they couldn’t get along, however, it all changed when they fell in love, culminating in their wedding which took place in season 5.
Victory Dress
Leslie wore a short tea-length dress which was as pretty as it was unique.
The skirt was pleated and among the lace and tulle were newspaper cuttings and various documents which featured all her best moments in the show. The secret ceremony turned out to be simply perfect for the ‘Parks and Recreation’ pair.
'Empire': Laura Calleros
SPOILER ALERT: This was a wedding doomed for disaster and Laura did not end up getting hitched to Hakeem Lyon in Season 2 of this hit show.
However, we did get a glimpse of her wearing this amazing dress, and although she doesn’t look too happy about it we love the see-through lace detailing on the deep v-neck.
...At Least The Dress Was Great
Everything about this dress is elegant and we have to say this may actually be the perfect dress.
Flawlessly crafted bodice leading into the flowing skirts, the lace, and the train at the base, it is just an example of everything a wedding gown should be. The veil is the finishing touch to this princess-like look.
'Gilmore Girls': Lorelei Gilmore
We pretty much knew we were in for a treat when we saw that episode in season 6 had the title ‘The Perfect Dress’.
We are not sure that this dress does live up to the hype though and while we understand that Lorelei wanted perfection when she married Luke, this dress doesn’t quite make it.
We could say that this was due to her friend Sookie’s influence but this dress was on sale for a reason – the blush satin with flowers on the bodice doesn’t really work for us.
It is always good to see dresses like this one though, that way we can learn from the mistakes of the TV show brides and make sure that we choose more wisely for our own wedding.
A top tip for this bride would be to pay attention to the length of your veil – this one just looks unfinished.
'Girls': Jessa Johansson
This dress shows what you can do if you go for the unconventional and that was certainly what Jessa was in this amazing TV show.
Unlike Hannah and Shoshannah, Jessa was certainly a free spirit and so it is no surprise that she chose boho-chic for her wedding to Thomas-John. She even invited the guests by text and didn’t tell them it was actually a wedding!
This short dress really is like a throwback to the late 1960s classic hippy looks and is great for a casually styled wedding. We don’t always need to go for the most expensive and extravagant choice to make a great statement on our wedding day.
'Outlander': Claire Fraser
When Claire got married to Jaimie it was all about the floral look.
The most impressive thing about this dress is the fact that despite the brutal nature of old-fashioned corsetry Claire still managed to walk, breath and get through the whole ceremony without fainting.
'Reign': Queen Mary Stuart
Queen Mary Stuart wore this beautiful lace gown at her wedding to Prince Frances and in doing so she made a real impact on the history of the wedding dress which continues to inspire brides-to-be.
The look and feel of this entire outfit is just picture perfect and if you were to go for a dress like this, you could probably get away with including the tiara – who could blame you? How else could you top a gown like this one?
'Scandal': Olivia Pope
This was a wedding that wasn’t and was part season 6 of the TV show ‘Scandal’. The idea was to show what the wedding between Fitz and Olivia would have been had it ever happened.
Olivia’s dress is a full-skirted silk with that touch of drama and an elegant bare shoulder top.
The dress looks amazing and she tops off the look with a bun decorated with just enough rhinestones to give it that classy and classic feel.
The Dream-Dress
The long veil really does add something very, very special to this dress which is just on the classy side of combining lavish bridal couture and modesty. The little jewels in her hair give it that fairy-tale princess quality and she looks just amazing.
'Game of Thrones': Margaery Tyrell
Margaery wore white to marry King Joffrey in season 4 of the epic Game of Thrones saga.
The roses on the train are a nod to the sigil of her house and the cut out back was definitely part of Margaery’s personal style. Of course, like most things in the series, it did not end well.
Queen Of Roses
Margaery’s hometown of High Garden is renowned for its roses so that was the main feature of the back of her gown, that and the cut out back of course. This is one dress that you could use to inspire your own gown.
'This Is Us': Rebecca Pearson
This is a lovely lace detailed design dress with long sleeves that is just dripping in class. The bride tops off the natural look with loose curls and a simple flowery crown to match the dress. The groom’s tan suit compliments the look and feel of the bridal gown perfectly.
'Downton Abbey': Rose MacClare / Lady Rose Aldridge
This dress has an interesting back story. It is, in fact, 100 years old and was purchased by Anna Mary Scott Robbins, the costume designer for hit show Downton Abbey.
She said that she had simply, ‘stumbled upon’, the dress in London. The brand new silk tulle beaded gown was perfect for Rose’s marriage to Atticus Aldridge and certainly looks the part. It is just simply, quite stunning!
'Downton Abbey': Lady Edith Crawley
Lady Edith opted for a white lace gown and headpiece for her Downton Abbey wedding which took place in the season finale. However, this is another example of poor sleeves detracting from the dress, but we love how the bouquet gives a vibrant splash of color.
'Desperate Housewives': Susan Delfino
Look at this very simple, Greek-inspired gown. Sometimes simple is just too simple and we think that is the case here.
Her dark hair certainly adds a little flair but the pale flowers just act to make the whole ensemble look washed out. This dress certainly elicits a very loud ‘no’ from us.
'The Big Bang Theory': Penny Hofstadter
We are not sure how this wedding ever came to pass, however, their wedding ceremony was not that great so they decided to have another one! In this picture, Penny wore a lovely lacy knee-length dress and enjoyed a lovely ceremony with close family and friends.
'Beverly Hills 90210': Donna Martin
90210 was an iconic TV show and rightfully has a place in TV history. At the end of the show, Donna and David got married and she chose this strapless dress topped off with a long veil and a diamante choker.
We feel the choker lets this down because it is more suitable for a nightclub than a wedding. Accessories can really change the look and feel of a gown.
'Sherlock': Mary Morstan
Another stunning vintage style dress, this time worn by Mary in her marriage to Watson. Not all brides wear white and this dress proves that other colors should not be written off out of hand.
Like most brides, Mary looks super happy as she marries her best friend detective, and pal of Sherlock Holmes.
Mysterious Detail
Mary’s fair skin is set off perfectly by this off-white lacy gown. Another top tip when choosing your dress color is to find something that lends itself to your own skin tone and features.
These dainty off the shoulder sleeves are also super feminine and worth considering as an unusual yet classic feature.
'Frankenstein': Elizabeth
The two words that stand out when looking at this iconic vintage wedding dress is "That. Veil” the long-sleeved lace number by Vera West was almost lovely enough to make up for all the blood and guts in the 1931 monster movie!
'Sex and The City': Carrie Bradshaw
Okay so the wedding may not exactly have happened, but my god that wedding dress was a sight to behold!
The always fashionable Carrie pulled out all the stops for her wedding to Mrs. Big in a billowing tight obsessed number that made the scene all the more dramatic and memorable.
'Mr. and Mrs. Smith': Jane Smith
It was prophetic when Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt said their fake vows on the movie that got it all started- Mr. and Mrs. Smith.
And even on screen, her wedding dress was very much Angie. Simple, elegant, straight and stylish, perfect for the woman who can do it all.
'The Notebook': Allie Hamilton
Of course, the most romantic movie of the century (I may be biased) has to have the most breath-taking wedding dress to go with it. From the gorgeous jeweled tiara to the intricate lace sleeved, we’re almost sorry she never got to walk the aisle in this beauty.
'The Princess Diaries 2': Mia Thermopolis
The transition from the bushy-haired Mia we were introduced to in Princess Diaries one to the confident and stunning young woman walking down the isle is phenomenal.
The wedding dress was fit for a princess from the square lace shoulders to the draping flowers- picture perfect!
'Bride Wars': Emma Allan and Liv Lerner
Here we get two for the price of one! In Bride Wars both wedding dresses were stunning and each perfectly suited for the bride.
Emma went elegant, classic and understated with a one-shoulder dress (granted she didn’t make it down the aisle but still), and Liv went full on with the puffy bottom and the heart-shaped bodes.
'Romeo and Juliet': Juliet
Everything about the Leonardo Caprio adaptation of Shakespeare play was magical, but the cherry on the top was the exquisite and simple wedding dress young Juliet wore to their secret wedding.
With the buttoned top, the gloves, and the sweet bouquet of roses, it captured young love to the tee.
“The Young Victoria”: Queen Victoria
Emma Blunt outdid herself when she portrayed Queen Victoria. And her wedding dress in the film was, well, fit for a queen!
How elegant she looked in that flower headrest, those large sleeves, the red brooches and the billowing intricately designed gown. Olden day but absolutely stunning.
'27 Dresses': Jane Nichols
She had been a bridesmaid more than enough times by the time she finally got to wear the wedding dress, but when she did there was certainly no disappointment!
Katheryn Heigl looked like a dream bride in the simple white dress with the plunging neckline when it was finally her turn to walk down the aisle.
'The Godfather': Apollonia Vitelli
The first wife of Michael Corleone who grew up on Sicily looked like a vintage Roman goddess when she said “ I Do” in that lacey high-necked gown with her bold headpiece. We were all sad to see her end so soon.
‘Runaway Bride’: Maggie Carpenter
The bride that always gets cold feet, but at least she does it in the ultimate style! When Julia Roberts donned this white wedding dress for yet another unsuccessful marriage attempt, she looked a vision.
Emphasizing her enviable figure with the tight waist and playful head bow the only thing left was getting her to actually say ‘I Do!’
‘A Walk to Remember’: Jamie Sullivan
One of the biggest romantic tear-jerkers on the lost is A Walk to Remember which followed the unlikely love story of a bad boy and a good girl who is suffering from terminal cancer.
One of her dreams, before she passed, was to get married in the same church as her mom, and the dashing Landon Carter made sure it came true- in a dreamy, angelic white gown!
‘Emma’: Emma Woodhouse
Based on Jane Austin’s novel of the same name, Emma was an iconic period piece starring Gwyneth Paltrow as the sweet and naïve Emma.
Her wedding dress in the film could inspire a generation of boho chic wedding style with the intricately done hair, the floral short sleeves, and the relaxed fit!
‘Harry Potter’: Fleur Delacour
One of the most surprising characters of the Harry Potter series was Fleur Delacour, the quarter vela French witch who proves anyone who thinks her a materialistic dumb blonde wrong and lands up marrying Bill Weasley.
Their wedding in the second last film of the franchise was a tense affair as Voldemort was on the rise, and her stunning masterpiece of a wedding dress fully captured the contrasting lightness of the celebration, and darkness of the trials ahead with the bold black pattern spilled across the dress.
‘Mamma Mia’: Sophie
The ridiculously exhilarating and fun romcom based on the musical and composed by ABBA member Benny Anderson got us all singing and dancing. Amanda Seyfried who played the young Sophie stole the show in her bedazzled wedding gown and intricate headpiece.
‘Sweet Home Alabama’: Melanie Smooter
The sweetest thing about this romantic tale is that wedding dress! Reese Witherspoon channeled her bride glam in the unique and exquisite number complete with face mask and bouquet of white roses.
'Les Misérables': Cosette
There are varies opinions regarding the wedding dress of Cosette in the movie adaptation of the musical Les Misérables. It's big, it's puffy and it's intricate. But no one can deny its certainly iconic!
'The Duchess': Georgiana Cavendish
One of my favorite movies of all times, Kiera Knightley performed perfectly as always when she played the charismatic duchess who is abused by her monster husband.
Her wedding dress which pre-empted an incredibly unhappy marriage was out-of-this-world. The color, the fit, the way she held herself… every part of it was beyond stunning.
'30 Rock': Liz Lemon
Okay, this may be a bit ‘Princess Leia’ for some and unless you are a huge Star Wars fan a bun on each ear may be a memorable look.
This homage to Leia's dress was the one that Liz Lemon chose in season 7 when she made it official with Criss Chros. We are not sure how many people would choose this look in real life, but each to their own.
A Lovely Ceremony Afterall
Despite being a totally crazy wedding, and a totally overboard couple, the ceremony itself was still beautiful and the day was a special one. Ultimately she did give off a royal vibe and that’s all that matters.
'Game of Thrones': Sansa Stark
Sansa Stark had an amazing dress when she married Tyrion Lannister in Game of Thrones.
Even though this character is miserable in the show, she is certainly one of the best-dressed characters too. Instead of opting for a traditional white, Sansa chooses gold for the occasion and she certainly looks a million dollars.
The Winterfell Wedding
After the failed marriage to Tyrion, Sansa had to undergo yet another wedding to a man she didn’t love. Ultimately both events ended badly but Sansa did at least have the chance to rock the show in 2 wedding gowns.
After going for the gold look, the Winterfell Wedding was all about the silver – probably a reflection of the weather in the chilly North.
This is definitely one for a winter wedding, with the thick quilting in the gown topped off with a silver fir. Probably one of the most outstanding hair do’s too – Sansa went for the traditional up-do with her trademark braids.
'The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air': Lisa Wilkes
Although the look of this gown is a little dated it was the height of fashion back when Lisa married The Fresh Prince.
At their wedding which took place in Season 5, Lisa wore this white gown complete with puffed neckline and a bow and tail at the back. Although Will Smith’s character seemed about to quit his playboy lifestyle, the couple didn’t stay together and later parted.
'Full House': Rebecca "Becky" Donaldson
This was the end of a classic love story – the motorcycle riding, leather-jacketed Jesse was the archetypal bad boy and of course, good girl Becky just fell for him hook, line and sinker.
Of course, what else was she going to wear? She had to choose those puffy sleeves and plenty of bling to accentuate just what a good girl she really is.
However, she did go a step too far with the headpiece, that is just some crazy work and would probably take off if she was caught in a stiff breeze. Simplicity is best for veils, or just get yourself a stunning hairdo.
'Downton Abbey': Lady Mary Crawley
This modest dress was chosen by Lady Mary Crawley and would be perfect for someone looking for a dress that both looks amazing and also fulfills a cultural or religious need to cover up.
This certainly fits the bill with the crown adding some sparkle. We think Matthew must have been counting his blessings when he saw Lady Mary in her finery.
'Jane The Virgin': Jane Villanueva
At the beginning of the show, it was not clear who Jane would choose – would be it Rafael or Michael? However, fans didn’t have to wait too long because, at the end of season 2, she walked up the aisle with Michael.
Jane had a lacy boat-necked gown, however, we feel the sleeves really let the dress down, the length being neither short nor long just looks out of kilter with the rest of the dress.
Maybe she wanted to cover her arms, but we feel you are better off with either full sleeves or no sleeves at all.
'Will & Grace': Grace Adler
Grace chose satin when she walked down the aisle to marry her boyfriend Leo, in the fifth season of the hit comedy show Will & Grace.
Although we love the strapless style of the gown coupled with an elegant veil we can’t help thinking that it would have been so much nicer without the satin.
The reflective nature of the material really does nothing to enhance the look of the gown so we were slightly disappointed with this one.
Monica & Chandler's Wedding
It wasn’t a completely smooth ride for Monica and Chandler and like most couples they had a few bad times, but they also had to cope with their friends making fun of them.
For fans though, this wedding was the one they had been waiting for and for most F.R.I.E.N.D.S. fans was an episode where they were forced to break out the tissues.
Pretty Little Liars: Hannah, Spencer, Emily, Arya
This wasn’t a wedding but an episode in season 4 where all four women modeled wedding dresses for a charity event. We are sure you will agree that whoever chose the gowns did a fantastic job as all the dresses look amazing.
Emily shows how to rock a dress with sleeves, in a lace cap-sleeved dress and Spencer is sporting a classically elegant look. In fact, any of these dresses would be perfect for the big day.
