A Well-Known Show
Wheel Of Fortune is a show we have all heard about. It's a game show where contestants attempt to answer questions correctly in hopes of earning a lot of money.
That sounds like a ball, doesn't it? A few people, however, get out of control, so the hosts are tasked with putting them back in line.
A Turn Of Events
It is not common for such incidents to occur on the show, despite its popularity. In spite of this, Pat Sajak encountered one incident that pushed him to the limit.
A twist unexpectedly arose in that incident and shocked everyone watching. On that night's show, what happened? Was Pat Sajak able to handle the problem contestant?
Acting Out
The night started like any other. Against the bright lights of the stage, the cameras focused on the contestants.
A contestant, however, refused to adhere to the rules. There were quite a few audience members who were shocked by his edgy remarks.
What Could He Do?
Each comment made by the contestant had Pat Sajak on edge. His audience was getting upset, and he knew something had to be done. However, what could he do?
How would he respond if the man continued to behave in this manner? He would have him removed from the stage, right? What if he just pretended nothing had happened?
A Smart Man
He was incredibly intelligent, even though he kept making those remarks. His money count just increased as he answered each question correctly.
Because of that, Pat knew what response he would get if he removed the man from the show. They couldn't afford to make it look like they were just scamming people.
Getting Out Of Hand
His bravery increased as he answered each question. It was as if he became bolder, and his comments were inching closer to being unacceptable.
Things were getting out of hand. It could be seen on the faces of every single member of the audience. A failure to act would ruin Pat's reputation.
Crossing The Line
In the end, the hosts knew they couldn't keep the man on the stage for much longer after he said something that crossed the line. He was winning, which was a problem.
As a result of his behavior, they didn't know how he would react if they lost the money he had already gathered. Could he comprehend the situation? What if he acted out even more?
Conflicted
There was no point in worrying about it at that point. In Pat's mind, the only thing he could do was to have the man removed from the show. The situation would only worsen if he didn't act.
What was the best course of action? Would it be better if he asked nicely? Would it be better if he followed the producers' lead?
Taking Action
Ultimately, it was a show for the whole family. There was no way Pat could allow the man to say something that shouldn't be said in front of children.
Pat knew there was only one way to accomplish this. The security guards were urgently needed. Unbeknownst to him, he was about to be surprised.
It Needed To Be Done
Pat made a difficult decision. Whatever road he took, he knew he had to take it. It would negatively affect the show if this incident occurred.
However, what other options did he have? The fact that someone was behaving inappropriately didn't make him lose viewers. This would be understood by some people out there, he was certain.
Removed From The Show
With that thought in mind, Pat had the contestant removed from the show. The security had arrived off-screen, and once Pat saw them, he made the announcement.
He apologized for the man’s behavior before inviting the security guards onto the stage. They grabbed the man, but as they were escorting him off, he did something completely unexpected.
One Final Comment
As the contestant was walking out, he made the host one final offer. “Let's have a wrestling match,” the man said. Pat was intrigued.
“What did you have in mind?” Pat asked. “If I win, I continue to play. If you win, I’ll leave without a fight.” It was an offer Pat simply couldn’t refuse.
Can’t Refuse
It seemed like the man had gotten the hint, and Pat was very interested in the fun this offer could produce. So he agreed. At least that way, he could prove that it had nothing to do with the money.
The men faced off in front of the cameras, and pretty soon, the game was on.
Game On
Pat thought he stood a chance against the man. But this contestant had some secrets that would be revealed sooner rather than later.
Pat moved in behind the man, hoping to do the famous wrestling body slam. But instead, it turned into a rather funny choke hold as the man was taller than he was.
What He Didn’t Know
What Pat didn’t know was that the man was actually a wrestler. Amongst all the things he did, wrestling was one of the things he was incredibly good at.
Pat admitted defeat after that and let the man continue his game. The man ended up winning over $70,000, and the incident between them became a hilarious part of the episode.
