Showing Up at the Races

Supporting their significant others is important to the NASCAR ladies. They are relied upon to go to as many races as could reasonably be expected. When a race car driver is pushing himself to the limits on the track, it is important that he feels the support of his friends and family.

Since these races are held all around the country, the ladies' lives, professions, and timetables are regularly pushed aside so they can join in.

A Reality TV Show

The reality TV show Racing Wives delved into these ladies' lives. The NASCAR sweethearts and spouses who took part had to surrender their privacy, but many were eager to represent their partners on TV.

Like most reality shows, however, we see what the producers decide to depict. Every one of the ladies had to observe the guidelines set by NASCAR and consent to having cameras following them all through the shooting season.

An Extraordinary Life

NASCAR drivers and their families go to 36 races every year. As you can probably imagine, they are regularly out and about. The races are all around the nation and participation is compulsory.

Although large numbers of the drivers have stunning homes from all of the cash they make through NASCAR, they don't get to spend a lot of time in them. Many racing families opt to live in fully-equipped RVs as this gives them a sense of having a home, even while they’re on the road.

A Series of Events

For the wives and girlfriends of the NASCAR drivers, track day entails much more than the actual race. It is an entire day of events. They are relied upon to be available for the duration of the day to support their significant others.

The ladies should be found in the stands and at various occasions like sponsor’s gatherings. Note that there are 36 track days a year. For some of these ladies who are celebrities or healthcare professionals, that is a major responsibility.

Supporting Their Significant Others

We're certain that these women love their significant others and want to be understanding. Yet, it’s inevitable for a driver to go through a difficult streak and get poor rankings. Despite the fact that they may not generally know what to say, it’s important for spouses to remain positive when addressing the media and their social media followers.

You might recall the time when Connie Montoya declared that her better half was one of the best drivers on the planet? That’s a perfect example of a supportive NASCAR wife.

Maintaining Composure

With the prestige and energy that surround the races, it can be easy to forget that it's really an extremely risky game. The WAGs are sometimes confronted with terrifying circumstances in which their significant other's lives are at risk.

They need to know how to keep their cool and not let the pressure meddle in their everyday life. When Kyle Busch had a mishap in 2015 in Daytona, it was alarming for his wife Samantha. "I make an effort not to discuss it or bring it up," Samantha said.

Posing for The Media and Fans

Photos of the wonderful spouses and sweethearts of the NASCAR drivers are all around the web. This is because they are expected to be available at every one of the races. While their spouses are on the track, the WAGs are relied upon to be in the stands meeting supporters.

They regularly have their photos taken for the media. The overseeing body understands that the loved ones of the drivers are also representatives of NASCAR, so it expects them to look and act professionally at all times.

Protecting Their Partners

It’s inevitable for a driver to receive criticism from the public at some point in their career. NASCAR expects that the driver's family will show unity and strength against any external judgment. Every so often, the partners are called upon to protect the racer.

It can be difficult to support somebody who has done something wrong without condoning their bad actions. Connie Pablo Montoya protected her better half, Juan, when he deliberately bumped into other vehicles, saying, "that is exactly how he is."

Not Hogging the Spotlight

The WAGs of NASCAR drivers need to strike a balance by being showstoppers who never actually stop the show. On the one hand, they are expected to go to all the races, meet the fans, dress flawlessly, and pose for photographs.

Then again, they ought to avoid hogging the spotlight or drawing attention for dubious reasons. A WAG who stirs up controversy wherever she goes could damage her partner’s career. Nicole Biffle clarified that they get to enjoy a luxurious life, but at the end of the day, “…it’s not about me. It’s about him.”

Helping Those in Need

NASCAR families are regularly very wealthy thanks to the spoils of racing. To keep up a decent appearance and show humility, many NASCAR ladies give their time and donate money to charitable organizations.

Fans like to see that these women understand how privileged they are and are motivated to help other people. The Childless Foundation for Pediatric Trauma and the Kyle Busch Foundation are some of the most notable charities within their circle.

Looking Presentable at All Times

The WAGs are required by NASCAR to look professional at all times as they represent their partners and the auto racing company itself. Fans can't resist the urge to assess their looks and disposition. The ladies we've featured on this list need no reminding whatsoever.

Of course, they don’t all have to look like models. However, they are asked to appear respectable at the races and in their daily life. While life before the camera can be thrilling, it can also be exhausting.

Monitoring Their Partner’s Ranking

The significant others of NASCAR drivers are regularly approached by fans and interviewed by the media. They are not just expected to come and support their partners but also to understand the elements of the sport.

Regardless of whether they grew up in a racing family or not, they are expected to become aficionados. With that said, they need to monitor their better half's ranking. It can change after each race, so they need to stay up with the latest news.

Life on the Road

Many of the NASCAR drivers have enough wealth to comfortably retire. However, until the day they choose to retire, they barely get a chance to enjoy their wealth. The drivers and their families invest so much time out and about that their RVs are their real homes.

These motorhomes are modern and extravagant for what they are, but they can't measure up to a real house. The families spend a lot of time in trailer parks, and though life on the road can be exciting, it has plenty of tough aspects too.

Through Thick and Thin

Being a NASCAR WAG is easygoing when your partner is on top of the rankings. Then again, what might be said about the less successful racers? Their spouses still need to show a lot of support, but they do this without the advantages of fame and fortune.

Beccy Hunter-Reay shared how her significant other, Ryan, was on the verge of losing his career. The couple endured the challenges and emerged victorious in the end. He is now a successful driver.

Love the Sport

If you’re going to marry a NASCAR driver, you have to love the sport. The ladies supporting the drivers surrender so much time and attention to the track that their lives end up revolving around it. A lot of the ladies come from NASCAR families, meaning they were somewhat prepared before meeting their partners.

These matches aren’t just circumstantial. Of course, they met through shared friends and common interests, but the most important factor for a racer is that their partner understands the lifestyle. People who grew up with a NASCAR parent or sibling most likely cherish racing and the intriguing life it brings.

Nice and Friendly

While race car drivers are on the track, they are less reachable to their supporters. So, their partners in the stands hold a lot of interest. With that said, they are expected to be professional and pleasant to the crowd, the fans, and the media.

From what we hear, though, they’re not always as kind as they could be to each other. The races can get exceptionally serious, and at times, the WAGs can get on each other’s nerves.

Racing is the Top Priority

Being a NASCAR partner isn't all about glamour. As you've seen, these ladies need to give up their privacy and even their own dreams. Their partners’ professions are excessively difficult and serious, leaving little time for the WAGs to enjoy careers of their own.

The ladies regularly need to make adjustments to their lifestyles to aid their spouses with succeeding in their NASCAR careers. Maybe due to this, many of the WAGs launched their own websites or social media channels as an outlet for their interests that can be maintained digitally.
