If you are someone who likes to go out traveling, then December can be a good time to get outside. The cool weather can put some people off, but it can be a good time to go out and see things that you cannot enjoy during the summer. While you might need to wrap up a bit more than you would have expected, here are some of the best places to come and visit this December.
Where, then, should you think about coming to check out this winter?
Cape Town, South Africa
Cape Town is a brilliant place to come and visit if you want to get out of the US and come see another part of the world. South Africa is a culturally enriched country and Cape Town is among its most popular cities. A place to come and check out if you fancy just seeing something a little bit different.
Cape Town is an exceptionally fun place to be as you can enjoy everything from hiking trips to swimming. It is also a great place to try out some new food. Another thing to note is that you can get enjoy a bit of warmer weather, as Cape Town is nowhere near as cold as much of America tends to be during the winter months.
Solvang, California
What if you want to stay in America, though? OK so most people would rather come and visit California in the brisk sunshine and heat – but California is still awesome even during the winter!
Come here and you will get to enjoy a quaint and picturesque little place. It feels totally out of the sink with what you would expect from California, and it can be quite remote and rural by comparison. It is, though, a tremendous place to come and visit and a fun location to get settled into for the evening. Solvang is a fun place to stop off, especially if you stay at the beloved Vinland Hotel!
Alexandria, Virginia
This part of Virginia is a great place to visit during the winter months. It is a popular tourist hotspot, known for its grandiose history and its gorgeous architecture. The excellent lighting, too, means that you can still see more or less everything you would want even if you come out here during the evening.
It is also home to the Alexandria Scottish Christmas Walk, taking place on the 3rd of each December. This classic local event is something you should take in for some festive-themed fun. A tremendous place to visit, but especially so during the winter!
