Brussels is home to the European Parliament and is often called the Capital of Europe. This city has countless beautiful places to admire. Now, which sights should you not miss?
Parks & nature reserves
Brussels is a much greener city than you might think. There are more than 8,000 hectares of green space. Highly recommended is the Cinquantenaire Park with its stately triumphal arch. This arch is reminiscent of the Arc de Triomphe in Paris. In this park, you will find, among other things, various works of art and the Cinquantenaire Museum, where you can enjoy national archaeological finds and decorative arts such as art nouveau and photographic art.
Right in the center, you will find Warande Park. This park is tucked between the Belgian Parliament and the Royal Palace. Do you like to stroll through beautiful gardens? Be sure to visit the Art Deco gardens!
Remarkable architecture
The extraordinary architecture is something that immediately stands out. There are special walking tours available. The starting point is usually the Central Station.
Yet the most extraordinary structure in the city is undoubtedly the Atomium. This impressive piece of architecture can be found in Heysel Park. Designed in 1958, this work of art has become a true tourist attraction thanks to its large spheres.
The historic center
Lovers of beautiful buildings can indulge in the center of Brussels. The Grand Place alone is very impressive to admire. At Rue des Sables 20 you will find the Belgian Comic Strip Museum. Not only the museum itself is beautiful to see. The building, in which the museum is located, can also rightly be called a beautiful picture.
Eating & drinking
Good food and drink are inseparable from Brussels. Location plays an important role in this. The Grand Place and the Stock Exchange are well-known places for a bite to eat and a drink. But also visit a café, where you sometimes have the choice of more than 100 different types of beer. Prefer to return to nature? Of course, it is also an option to just picnic in one of the beautiful parks!
